The mouse that I have is Logitech g102. This guide is not just for this particular mouse but you can use this guide to repair any of your mouse.
One of the main problem with this mouse is its micro switches. They malfunction within 6 months from purchase. Even tough they are from omron
The problem I had was that left click was malfunctioning. A single click would register as a double click. And the scroll wheel was really choppy and sometime would not work.
So the first thing you need to do is to open the mouse. In my case there were
some stickers above the screw holes and if I break the seal the warranty will be
void.
So to keep the warranty intact you need to use something like a needle to carefully remove the seal from above the screw hole and then remove the screws .
After removing the screw disassemble the mouse and remove the main board away from the mouse place the main board on a tissue paper.
We will use a WD 40 solution to fix this mouse. Wd40 is a multipurpose product used to protect metal from rust and corrosion it also acts as a lubricant. So, if there is any corrosion or moisture inside your mouse switch or potentiometer you can use the solution to fix it.
Now spray wd40 solution on the affected parts in my case it is the left switch as well as the scroll wheel. After spraying press the button multiple time and scroll the scroll wheel so that the solution reaches every component inside the switch and potentiometer
Doing this will fix your mouse switch as well as your potentiometer.
So that's it for this blog. I hope this fixes your mouse.
